Vedanta organises free health check-up camp in Lanjigarh

Lanjigarh: Vedanta Ltd Lanjigarh unit organised a free mega medical camp at Harekrushnapur in Lanjigarh on Wednesday here. A total of 302 villagers benefited from this noble initiative.

With the aim to reach out and deliver basic medical care to the needy people, the medical camp was conducted with the assistance of Vedanta Hospital. A dedicated medical team of five doctors which includes a paediatrician, a gynaecologist and a general physician provided services.

In addition, consultation on various diseases and health related issues as well as free medicines were distributed to the needy patients.

Vedanta Ltd, Lanjigarh unit COO Rakesh Mohan said that the hospital is committed to the improvement of health indicators of local communities in Lanjigarh and the surrounding villages.

The 20-bed hospital having a range of medical facilities such as Physiotherapy, in-patient care, pathology, ECG, X-Ray, Dental, Paediatric, Orthopaedic and Ophthalmology services, records a footfall of 5,000-7,000 patients per month.

Apart from the health camps, Vedanta’s Lanjigarh unit has longstanding intervention in sanitation including the Open Defecation Free initiative under the Swachhta Project, Mobile Health Units to provide health care to people living in remote areas across 80 villages.
