Bhubaneswar, Sep 29: The Airport Authority of India (AAI)
will construct toilets in government schools in the State under its corporate
social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, said a press release issued by it.

The move followed the call given by Prime Minister Marendra
Modi, during his maiden Independence Day address to ensure that all government
schools had separate toilets for girls within a year.

In Odisha, 35 government schools have been identified for the
purpose for which an estimated cost of Rs 87.5 lakh will be spent.

The AAI personnel will soon visit these schools to ascertain
the requirements following which tenderds would be called for.

The construction works will commence by January and were

The spending should be from MP Local Area Development Funds,
budgets of the State Governments and the CSR activities of the corporate
sector. The AAI had allocated Rs 20 crore for this nationwide project.
