Naveen hopeful of getting justice in Mahanadi issue

Bhubaneswar, Sep 16: Expressing
gratitude to various people’s organisations for their suggestions on Mahanadi
river water dispute, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday said he was going
to Delhi with a lot of hope that the Central Government will listen to the
voice of Odisha and do justice to its people.
“I am thankful to the
various people’s organisation who come forward to give their suggestions. It
was heartening to know that many of them had done detailed research and had
come up with well thought out suggestions,” Patnaik told reporters before leaving for New Delhi.
He also expressed his deepest
gratitude to the four and half crore people of the state who are concerned
about this issue and continue to pray for the interest of the State and support
him.
“I assure each one of
you that I will put my best efforts forward and leave no stone unturned in the
fight for the rights of the people of our State. I am going with a lot of hope
that the Central Government will listen to the voice of Odisha and do justice
to the people of our state in this sensitive Mahanadi issue,” added Patnaik.
Patnaik left for New
Delhi on Friday to attend a tripartite meeting between him, his Chhattisgarh
counterpart Raman Singh and Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti on
Saturday.
