Bhubaneswar, September 12, 2017: Director General of Police (DGP) Dr RP Sharma visited
the Maoist affected areas in Barakhama under Baliguda Sub-Division of Kandhamal
district today on Tuesday and reviewed the ongoing anti-Maoist operations two
days after an encounter between CPI (Maoist) and the SOG.

He instructed all the officers present there to conduct more
joint operations in the area. The DGP also emphasized on the need for a

Dr Sharma also visited the CRPF locations and reviewed the
infrastructure facilities and also met the SOG Commandos who had participated
in the operations on Sunday to get first hand information on the encounter and
