Trains cancelled till Sept 24 for Puri station work, ECoR offers bus service to passengers

Bhubaneswar, September 12, 2018: Train service between Bhubaneswar-Puri and Khurda-Puri will be cancelled for 11 days beginning Friday due to safety related modernisation work and remodeling of Puri Railway Station yard.

The train service in the route will be cancelled between September 14 and September 24, said a East Coast Railway (ECoR) communiqué.

According to the communiqué, Howrah-Puri Shatabdi Express (12277)) leaving Howrah from September 14 to 24 will run up to Bhubaneswar except on September 15 and 22. Similarly, Puri-Howrah Shatabdi Express (12278) will originate from Bhubaneswar instead of Puri from September 16 to 25 except September 15 and 22.

Howrah-Puri Express (12821) leaving from Howrah will run up to Bhubaneswar and in return direction Puri-Howrah express (12822) will originate from Bhubaneswar instead of Puri. The service of this train between Bhubaneswar-Puri-Bhubaneswar will be cancelled from September 13 to 24, it said.

Sambalpur-Puri Intercity express (18303) leaving from Sambalpur will run up to Khurda Road and in return direction Puri- Sambalpur intercity express (18304) will start from Khurda Road instead of Puri. The service of this train between Khurda Road-Puri-Khurda Road will be cancelled from September 14 to 24, it said.

Tirupati-Puri Express (17480) leaving Tirupati on September 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 21 and 22 will run up to Khurda Road and in return direction Puri- Tirupati express (17479) on September 15, 16, 18, 19, 20 and 22 will start from Khurda Road instead of Puri.

The service of this train between Khurda Road-Puri-Khurda Road will be cancelled from September 14 and 24.

The railway has decided to ensure bus service facilities for passengers during the period.

“Bonafide passengers who are supposed to entrain or detrain at Puri, Khurda Road and Bhubaneswar Railway Stations for the above trains, will be provided with free Bus service facilities by Railways at Puri, Khurda Road and Bhubaneswar Railway stations in both the directions during the period,” it added.
