Ama Gaon Ama Bikash: Rs 1,130.59 crore approved so far for 45,714 projects

Bhubaneswar, October 5, 2018: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved at least 45,714 projects worth Rs 1,130.59 crore so far under the Ama Gaon Ama Bikash (Our Village Our Development) initiative since its inception in March this year.

Ama Gaon Ama Bikash programme aims to speed up rural development in Odisha with people’s participation. “So far Chief Minister has approved 45,714 projects worth Rs 1,130.59 crore in 229 blocks,” said a Chief Minister’s Office communiqué.

The scheme was launched in the State on March 5 this year.

As part of the scheme, the Chief Minister interacts with the villagers on Wednesdays and Fridays every week and takes stock of the development in their villages.

And today, the Chief Minister interacted with people from 246 gram panchayats (GPs) in 10 districts through videoconferencing and sanctioned Rs 57.10 crore for 2,302 projects. The districts are Sundargarh, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Balasore, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Puri, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam and Kandhamal.  He sanctioned 2.302 projects worth Rs 57.10 crore.

With this a total of 45,714 projects worth Rs 1,130.59 crore have been approved so far.

The Chief Minister asked the concerned officials to ensure timely completion of the projects in order to make ‘Ama Gaon Ama Vikash Yojana’ a success.
