Bhubaneswar, October 6, 2018: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday launched Nirman Kusuma Yojana that aims to provide financial assistance to children of construction workers for pursuing technical education Odisha.
Under the scheme the State Government will fully fund the course fee of children of construction workers studying in Government ITI, Polytechnic and Diploma.
The Chief Minister increased financial aid for girls’ education by 20 per cent at each stage, starting from Class VI to post-graduation (PG) level.
In case of death of construction workers, the Chief Minister announced the compensation amount has been hiked from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh while in case of unnatural death, it has been increased from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 4 lakh.
In this financial year, Rs 1.09 crore has been deposited in 1878 beneficiary account, the Chief Minister said.
