Bhubaneswar: The Ama Gaon Ama Bikash (Our Village Our Development), programme has attained the milestone of taking rural transformation to all 314 blocks of the State.
Started on March 5, 2018, the programme, perceived to be Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s grassroots connect exercise through videoconferencing, has reached as many as 6,798 Gram Panchayats and resulted in sanction of at least 62,857 development projects worth Rs 1,554 crore.
During the last Ama Gaon Ama Bikash programme, the Chief Minister on Monday Naveen Patnaik connected with people from 178 GPs of Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Bolangir, Khurda and Rayagada districts. Based on their suggestions, he sanctioned at least 1,715 development projects worth Rs 39.53 crore.
Describing it as a brilliant example of how 3Ts- teamwork, technology and transparency – can be implemented to bring transformation, Patnaik thanked people for their active participation in the programme.
“I am very glad to announce that we have completed the Ama Gaon Ama Bikash programme for this year. This covers all the 314 blocks of the State. The projects which have been approved are more that 60,000 and of more than Rs 1,500 crore,” Patnaik told media persons at the State Secretariat here.
As part of the programme, Chief Minister interacted with the people in grassroots level directly through videoconferencing and approved projects as suggested by the people.
