Odisha Assembly fails to transact Question Hour for 4th straight day

Bhubaneswar: For the fourth consecutive day, the Odisha Assembly could not transact the Question Hour on Friday.

While BJD MLAs created ruckus over Central negligence and inefficiency to provide jobs to youths Opposition raised issues of farmer and sexual assault of minor girls in the State and delay in returning money to the duped chit fund investors.

Speaker Pradip Amat adjourned House till 11.30 am amid noise by Opposition and ruling party members.

As the House assembled to transact business at 10.30 am as usual, opposition Congress and BJP members trooped into the Well of the House and shouted slogans against the State Government. While Congress members raised farmer problems and unemployment issues, BJP members alleged that the State Government has failed to return money to chit fund investors.

To counter them, treasury bench members raised the issue of central negligence. Despite Speaker’s repeated appeals, the members did not relent from sloganeering.

Unable to run the proceedings, the Speaker adjourned the House till 11.30 am.

Later, the BJD MLAs marched on a rally to Raj Bhavan accusing the NDA Government of being failed to provide jobs to youths.
