Bhubaneswar: BJP national president Amit Shah cancelled his political programme scheduled for Friday in the wake of Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that killed more than 40 jawans on Thursday.
Shah was scheduled to address a rally and booth-level workers at Dhankauda in Sambalpur district and review preparations for the forthcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly polls, his third such political programme in the state this year.
Shah had earlier addressed party workers at Kulia in Salipur area in Cuttack district on January 29 and in Puri on February 3.
Shah was also scheduled to perform a puja at the Samaleswari Temple, the presiding deity of Sambalpur and garland the statue of Veer Surendra Sai at Jail Chowk before attending the meeting.
However, following the terrorist attack all political programmes of BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled for Friday were cancelled.
The Prime Minister was scheduled to attend two political functions, one each in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
