Bhubaneswar: The mortal remains of two brave sons of Odisha, Manoj Kumar Behera and Prasanna Kumar Sahu, who among 40 CRPF jawans were martyred in Pulwama terror attack on Thursday reached Bhubaneswar airport on Saturday.
Chief MInister Naveen Patnaik, including Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera, Home Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy, DGP Rajendra Prasad Sharma, Commissioner of Police Satyajit Mohanty, Khurda Collector Nirmal Chandra Mishra and top CRPF officials paid rich tributes to the two martyrs to the slain jawans, whose body reached at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here in a special flight at around 3 pm.
The family members of the two jawnas also received the bodies.
After the guard of honour was accorded to the two jawans the bodies were taken to their native places in special vehicles.
Havildar Prasanna of Parisikhar village in Nugaon block and Constable Manoj of Ratanpur village in Niali in Cuttack district were among 40 CRPF jawnas martyred after an IED blast by terrorists struck a bus in which the jawans were travelling in near Goripora in Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday afternoon.
Prasanna is survived by his wife and a daughter and son while Manoj is survived his wife and a one-year-old daughter.
Two Union Ministers from Odisha will represent the Centre for expressing condolences to the bereaved families. Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will pay his homage to slain Prasanna at his native village at Shikhar in Naugaon block of Jagatsinghpur district while Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram will pay tributes to martyr Manoj at his Ratanpur village.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday spoke to the bereaved family members of two martyrs over telephone and conveyed his deep sympathies. He also announced Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia each to the family members of the two brave jawans.
