Bhubaneswar: As the Assembly elections are fast approaching, no Opposition party wants to remain behind in appeasing voters, particularly women in Odisha. The Congress on Monday said that if voted to power, it would distribute marriage kit to women.
Earlier the party promised that it would come out with a loan-waiver scheme for small and marginal farmers in Odisha.
Assembly and Lok Sabha elections are due by May.
Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik informed that the marriage kit will provide monetary assistance and other benefits to the women across the State if the party, which is out of power since 2000, voted to power.

We promise that the party will distribute marriage kit to women if voted to power in the State in the ensuing elections,” said Patnaik.
