Paralakhemundi: BJD candidate Yuvarani Kalyani Devi has started a high-voltage campaigning with party workers across the Paralakhemundi Assembly constituency.
Kalyani Devi, a descendant of Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati’s family, is respected by people of Gajapati district because of developmental works done over a hundred years ago by the royal family.
As many as seven canals, educational institutions, milk industries etc. established by the family still remain remarkable.
Common people have been seen greeting Kalyani Devi wherever she goes in Gumma, Kasinagar and Gosani blocks that come under the constituency. BJD district president Pradeep Nayak, former president Basanta Das, Marut Pal and other party workers are toiling day and night to fetch a big win for Kalyani Devi.
