Puri: Noted sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik on Tuesday created a sand sculpture of Biju Patnaik at Puri beach to pay tribute to the former Chief Minister of Odisha on his 22nd death anniversary.
“Tribute to A true legend, Son of the Soil #BijuBabu today is 22nd death anniversary of the great Statesman #BijuPatnaik,” read the message on the sand sculpture.
Biju Patnaik, the father of incumbent Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, was born on March 5, 1916, and died on April 17, 1997. He was Chief Minister of Odisha for two terms. He was also popularly known as ‘Kalinga Sandha’.
