Kendrapara: In his last day campaign in Odisha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday made sharp personal attack on BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for adopting violence at the behest of a few officers.
“So far, I refrained from making personal attack on Naveen Babu. I wanted to give a respectful farewell to Naveen Babu because he governed Odisha for a long. But the way Naveen Babu took shelter of violence in past 10-12 days is unfortunate. Poll related violence in the state has peaked and his officials have kept him blind folded,” said Modi at the Vijay Sankalp Samavesh at Barua Ground here.
Modi said, “People are ready to give a farewell with anger. Your exit is certain and a handful of officers cannot save you. You are going.” Earlier this month, a senior BJP leader was shot dead in Khurda while party’s Bhubaneswar-Central MLA candidate Jagannth Pradhan was hurled bombs in Bhubaneswar reportedly by BJD workers on April 21.
Claiming that Kendrapara will not vote for Congress or BJD, Modi said, “In last five years not a single corruption charge has surfaced against my Government, those who brought false allegations are now facing action. Development of Odisha is not possible unless a double engine BJP Government comes at the centre and State.”
Coming down heavily on the Naveen Patnaik Government for not implementing Ayushman Bharat and poor development in the coastal district, Modi said assured that holistic development of the State will be done after BJP comes to power.
“Naveen Babu is standing like a barrier between Ayushman Bharat and you (people),” said Modi.
Party’s Kendrapara parliamentary constituency candidate Baijayant Panda and all the candidates for seven Assembly segments coming under it attended the rally. Kendrapara parliamentary constituency will go to polls on April 29.
