Chilika: INS Chilka observed Earth Day on Monday with an aim to promote awareness amongst members of the station towards preservation of environment and sensitise them on environmental issues.
The personnel were made aware about conservation of natural resources, judicious use of water and electricity and encouraged to promote 100 per cent ban on use of single use plastics.
Sapling plantation, mass shramdaan, yoga, poster competition, prepared talks, and screening of the movie ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ were organised for the trainees to mark the occasion.
