Bhubaneswar: Students of SAI International School donated Rs 5 lakh to the Odisha Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), to support the people affected by the extremely severe cyclonic storm Fani that hit the state on May 3 and created havoc in more than five coastal districts.
A group of students led by school chairman Dr Bijay Kumar Sahoo handed over the cheque to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the State secretariat on Thursday.
The students had an elaborate discussion in French language with the Chief Minister on the various social connect activities undertaken by them in the nearby areas after cyclone Fani-hit the city.
Earlier, the school also organised a community feeding at Chigrortola slum in Patia in the city where around 1,000 inhabitants were served with healthy food, followed by clean drinking water on a daily basis, till normalcy was restored in the area.
