Berhampur: To promote Odias’ self-respect and Odisha’s culture and prosperity in the world, the Antarjatiya Odia Swabhiman Pratisthan would hold the first Viswa Odia Swabhiman Sammilani in New Delhi by end of the current year.
A preparation meeting in this regard was held here on Monday.
As many as 300 stalls on handicrafts, handlooms, Odia foods and artisan products would be put up in the five-day fair. Besides, cultural programmes would be organsied where Odia folk arts would be presented. Artistes from all over the world would also perform on the stage. Various seminars on development of Odissh would be organised.
The President, the Prime Minister, Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of various States would be invited to the programme. Noted Odia personalities would be felicitated with “Odia Suputra Samman”, Pratisthan international secretary Susanta Kumar Sabat.
Sabat attended the preparatory meeting held under the chairmanship of Mahan Sangha Ganjam branch convenor Hari Prsasada Mallana. Among others, Manas Dash, Devi Prava Rath, Bharati Kusum Patro, Rameshwari Nanda, Suchita Panigrahi, Sarita Panda, Surya Patro, Srikanta Sabat and Basudev Saukar were present.
