Malkangiri: Young nurses of Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) were found filming several TikTok videos inside the Sick and New Born Care Unit (SNCU) of the State-run healthcare institute.
The videos were posted on the TikTok mobile application. It can be seen in the video that a group of three young nurses – Nandini Ray, Rubu Ray and Tapasi Biswas – are dancing to the tunes of a song and are lip-syncing to funny dialogues, videos of which had gone viral on social media.
In one of the videos, a nurse is seen playing with a newborn child in the SNCU ward. They have recorded the videos during duty hours.
Taking serious note of the matter, Malkangiri Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) Ajit Mohanty issued show-cause notices to the nurses, besides intimating the issue to his higher-ups, including the district Collector.
“It has been recorded during duty hours. Stern legal action will be initiated against the three after probe,” said Mohanty.
