Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday launched the revamped and tourist friendly website of Odisha Tourism.
Now, using www.odishatourism.gov.in, stakeholders can reach out tourists and business partners from far corners of the world.
Launching the website, the Chief Minister said, “Tourism is a sustainable route to maximise employment for youth and the rejuvenated platform will leverage digital technologies to unlock the full potential of Odisha Tourism.”
The Chief Minister said that the new platform will also empower lakhs of people operating in tourism and hospitality sector, opening up huge windows of opportunities for them.
The website involves a pilot implementation of an e-commerce platform for Odisha’s handlooms and handicrafts by promoting state brands Boyanika and Utkalika.
Now, travel agents, hoteliers and home stay owners can register online and get online approvals for becoming a DoT recognised agency via the Odisha Tourism.
Travel agents and hoteliers can also update their packages and trails, information, deals and offers.
“It has been our constant endeavour to showcase Odisha to the world. Tourism is amngost the most sustainable routes to maximising employment opportunites for our youth and ensuring shared prosperity through community participation,” said Chief Minister Patnaik.
“Leveraging digital technologies is consistently helping us unlock the true potential of Odisha Tourism. The digital platform will also empower lakhs of people operating in the tourism and hospitality sector, individually and collectively, by virtue of of being an all-inclusive participatory platform,” added Patnaik.
Patnaik said, “They can now leverage networks and reach out to tourists and potential business partners from far corners of the world, opening a huge window of opportunities,” added Patnaik.
