Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday launched Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation’s sanitation programme – Mu Safaiwala campaign for behaviour change on sanitation on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
The initiative will encourage people to take pledge to keep their surroundings clean, involving students and residents’ welfare associations as change agents.
The initiative will not only encourage people to take pledge to keep their surroundings clean but it also aims to inculcate cleanliness in their daily habits and behaviour. It will involve students and residents’ welfare associations as change agents, said the Chief Minister.
As part of the people connect Mu Safaiwala programme, all students will be taking pledge to be safaiwala and refrain from use of single-use of plastic. The initiative will continue in all schools for next three months during prayers.
The students will be taking pledge to give up single-use plastic and try to avoid all forms of plastic, keep home and school clean and to adopt all good practices to resist climate change.
