Bhubaneswar: Union Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday said that Odisha has immense economic possibilities and is poised to become the epicentre of growth for eastern India.
Speaking at the National Conclave on Start-ups organised by Odisha Corporate Foundation in New Delhi, “Innovation and technical advances have given birth to new business models. Industry 4.0 is going to bring about a transformative change. Given its unique geographical position, Odisha has immense economic possibilities and is poised to become the epicentre of growth for eastern India.”
Odisha will not only cater to the economic requirements of India and its eastern region but also south-eastern Asia and it will also emerge as a growth engine of the world, said Pradhan, who hails from Odisha.
“We have to collectively work towards creating an enabling environment in the State to encourage more and more young professionals towards start-up culture and entrepreneurship to make the winning leap,” said the Union Minister.
Maintaining that Odisha has no dearth of talent and intellectual capacity and the human capital is adequately supported by rich and diverse natural resources, Pradhan urged all stakeholders to work towards creating a supportive ecosystem that encourages and motivates youth.
Union (MoS) Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Pratap Sarangi also attended the event and said the start-ups would help in developing the capacity to increase the basket of livelihood options for the vulnerable sections of society.
