Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday donated his one month’s salary to Prime Minister National Relief Fund to fight the new Coronavirus aka COVID-19 pandemic, which has so far claimed 25 Indian lives and wreaked havoc globally.
The Union Minister also released Rs crore from his MPLADS fund to the PM National Relief Fund in order to help the Centre fight coronavirus in the country.
“In these difficult times, let us stand for those who need us the most. In view of #Covid-19 pandemic, I have donated my one month’s salary and released Rs 1 Crore from my MPLADS fund to PM National Relief Fund to help bring a smile to the underprivileged,” tweeted Pradhan, who hails from Odisha.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced constitution of an “emergency fund” and appealed to people from all walks of life to donate to the country’s war against COVID-19.
