Bhubaneswar, December 4: In a major revamp for sanitation sector in Sundargarh, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday inaugurated advanced sanitation facilities in the district.
Facilities were started in Rourkela Municipal Corporation, Biramitrapur Municipality, Koira and Kutra blocks while 24 different types of 190 modern vehicles and machines were inducted for the service. A system was put into place for functioning of micro composting centre and waste management.
Quoting Mahatma Gandhi’s statement that sanitation is more important than independence, the Chief Minister said a healthy environment is foundation of prosperity.
Mentioning that advanced facilities are full-fledged, CM Patnaik said people staying near mines area will get more benefit.
Praising Mission Shakti Odisha members for their contribution in different developmental programmes, the Chief Minister said SHG members did very good work in creating awareness on sanitation.
The CM urged all to make cleanliness life’s motto and work towards creating a healthy and beautiful future for kids
During the programme, Patnaik praised sanitation workers and said they are the greatest workers of society.
