Cuttack, January 12: Union Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday inaugurated the new four-storied Arogya Bhawan (Patient Care and Help Center) of Utkal Bipanna Sahayata Samiti (UBSS) at Olatpur under Kantapada block in Cuttack district on the occasion National Youth Day marking the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
Built under the CSR Initiative of Central PSU, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) at a cost of Rs 2.32 crore, this facility will provide free accommodation, food and other services to patients and their assistants.
The Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR) is located in Olatpur which witnesses a large number patient daily with locomotor disabilities not only from Odisha but also from across the country.
“This modern four-storied Arogya Bhawan located in Cuttack will be very beneficial for poor patients. For health benefits, patients coming from far away drawer areas of Odisha and patients coming from neighboring States like West Bengal and Jharkhand will also get 24*7 different facilities here,” said Union Minister Pradhan.
The Minister said construction of this new building will help UBSS meet the growing demand of affordable housing for patients’ treatment and health benefits with the mantra of ‘Nar Seva Hi Narayan Seva’.
“I congratulate ONGC Limited for rapidly completing this project dedicated to social welfare. It is a great pleasure for me that this facility is being dedicated to the people on the auspicious occasion of Swami Vivekananda Ji Jayanti today. Our government and PSU companies are committed to society and public welfare and are continuously working to bring prosperity and happiness in people’s lives,” added the Minister.
