Koraput, January 27: The Central University of Odisha (CUO), Koraput will reopen for Research Scholars from February 1 and for final year students from April 1, in a phased manner adhering strictly to the protocol and guidelines of COVID-19, announced university Vice-Chancellor Prof. I. Ramabrahmam.
Ramabrahmam announced this on Tuesday while participating in the 72nd Republic Day celebrations through virtual mode.
He further said that a massive Action Research Project on Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will be launched for the empowerment of the SC and ST youth in Koraput soon.
The university celebrated 72nd Republic Day in a befitting manner at its Sunabeda campus here on Tuesday.
University Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kshiti Bhusan Das unfurled the Tricolour while Vice-Chancellor Prof. I. Ramabrahmam graced the occasion through the virtual mode.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Das said, “The University established in a backward region with an objective to increase the access to quality higher education by people in less educationally developed districts which have a Graduate Enrolment Ratio of less than the national average and that it may widen the access to quality higher education in the country.”
University Registrar Prof. Asit Kumar Das, Prof. S. K. Palita, Dean, Biodiversity and Conservation of Natural Resources Prof. Saroj Kumar Panigrahi, Professor and Head of Mathematics Prof. P. Durgaprasad, Visiting Professor Dr. Jayant Kumar Nayak, Controller of Examinations, members of the staff were present.
University Public Relations Officer Dr Phagunath Bhoi coordinated the event.
