Bhubaneswar, Mar 22: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will chair a review meeting on COVID-19 situation in the State tomorrow at 5.30 PM as the State is witnessing a surge in daily new cases since last one week.
“The Chief Minister will have a review meeting on Covid situation in the State tomorrow. Now, COVID-19 management committees will be reactivated in villages. Sarpanchs, ward members, ASHA & Anganwadi workers will once again be given the responsibility to keep a close vigil on return of people from outside to their respective villages and panchayats,” said Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena after attending a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra.
Decision on lockdown or other aspects will be taken after observing the situation, said Jena.
Today’s review by the Chief Secretary focused on increase in testing, tracking and treatment. Development Commissioner, ACS (Health and Family Welfare) among senior officers were present.
He said the Government has kept vigil on the situation. He said the decision for imposing lockdown will be taken after assessment of the situation.
The State today reported 146 new COVID19 positives cases taking the tally to 3,38,963. The State has now 867 active cases.
