Bhubaneswar, April 21: Odisha has reported 4,851 new COVID-19 cases, 1,740 recoveries and five more fatalities in the last 24 hours, informed the State Health and Family Welfare Department on Wednesday.
Of the total cases, 2,814 cases were detected from among the quarantined people and 2,037 were local contacts.
These new cases have been detected in all the 30 districts of the State. This apart, 145 cases were reported from the State Pool.
Khurda continues to be the worst hit district with 703 cases followed by Sundergarh with 516 cases and Nuapada 486 positive cases.
With this, the total virus cases mounted to 3,82,315 with 30,927 active cases.
The State also recorded five more fresh casualties. Of it, one each reported from Cuttack, Mayurbhanj and Sundergarh districts and two in Nuapada. With this, the virus death toll mounted to 1,958.
