COVID-19: Oxygen Express carrying 5 LMO leaves Angul for Secunderabad

Bhubaneswar, May 1: Oxygen Express Train loaded with Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) from Angul left for Secunderabad on Saturday. About 63.6 Tonne of LMO loaded from Tata Bhushan Steel Plant at Angul towards Secunderabad through Oxygen Express Ro-Ro service of Indian Railways.

On request of Telengana Government, Oxygen Express Special having five empty tankers from Secunderabad was placed for loading at Tata Bhushan Steel Plant at Angul, on Friday. About 63.6 Tonne of LMO have been loaded in five tankers and left for Telengana by train, today evening with RoRo service of Indian Railways.

Two Empty Liquid Medical Oxygen Tankers unloaded from Special Air Force Flight on Thursday, was loaded with 32 Tonne LMO at Tata Bhushan Steel Plant, Angul and dispatched to Haryana by train, yesterday morning with RoRo service of Indian Railways.

Two more Empty Liquid Medical Oxygen Tankers unloaded from Special Air Force Flight, on Friday, are ready for despatch at Angul to Haryana.

The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has taken all precautions for safe running of Oxygen Express Special Trains from its jurisdiction and sending these trains at the earliest. Liquid Oxygen being a cryogenic cargo utmost care have been taken about the maximum speed at which it can be carried, maximum acceleration & deceleration.

ECoR General Manager Vidya Bhushan had instructed officials to take it as a challenge to supply Oxygen at the earliest during the crisis for life-saving of patients. He has stressed upon proper lashing and packing of the tankers on the rake. ECoR is in full preparedness for providing oxygen transportation services to all the States in need.
