BMC launches drive-in vacciantion programme; 400 beneficiaries covered on first day

Bhubaneswar, May 8: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday launched a drive-in vaccination centre in the parking lot of Esplanade Mall at Rasulgarh Square here – on a pilot basis – for people above 45 years of age coming in for their second dose of COVID19 vaccine.

As many as 400 beneficiaries were vaccinated on the first day.

This novel step in the State capital has encouraged denizens to come forward booking their slots and come to the venue in a guided and disciplined manner.

Two vaccination points in the basement of Esplaned One Mall at Rasulgarh Square served 45+ category beneficiaries who came for vaccination.

The center was well marked as lanes, registration check in, vaccination, waiting space and exit passage.

The drive was organised under the direct supervision of BMC Zonal Deputy Commissioner (SE Zone) Ansuman Rath. Enplaned One Mall head Parth Pratim Nayak supported in barricading, traffic management, registration check in and space arrangement.

The drive started at 8.45 AM today has ended at 6.00 PM with a break of two hours from 1 PM to 3 PM.

The entire space has been made as an information promotion zone using different displays with regards to Covid-19 vaccination and encouraging citizens to cooperate preventing the infection.

Water Resources Joint Secretary Subrat Kumar Panda visited the center as the Observer for SE zone of BMC. During his one hour visit to the center he interacted with beneficiaries, the team BMC and authorities of Enplaned One Mall and has placed his appreciation to the team members.
