Odisha reports 12,732 new COVID-19 cases, 19 deaths; Active tally rises to 1,07,403

Bhubaneswar, May 16: Odisha on Sunday reported 11,732 new COVID-19 positive cases, 19 deaths and 10,781 recoveries.

With 11,732 fresh infections being reported in the last 24 hours, the cumulative positive count rose to 6,12,224 while the total death toll climbed to 2,313. The active case tally stood at 1,07,403. The death toll mounted to 2,313. The total recoveries stood at 5,02,455.
Khurda district reported maximum four deaths followed by Angul which saw three Covid related fatalities in last 24 hours.
Of the fresh cases reported today, 6,569 people tested positive for the virus from quarantine centres while 5,163 people were found infected from local contacts.
Khurda district comprising the State Capital Bhubaneswar continues to remain as the worst hit region in terms of daily count of cases with. maximum 1,710 new cases while Cuttack remained in the second spot with 870 fresh infections.
Angul went up to third position reporting 700 new cases.
