Glorious tradition of Nuakhai will never change: Guests at Global Liferature Foundation’s Milan Fest

Bhubaneswar, September 13: Though the cultural traditions associated with Nuakhai are slowly changing with DJ, Disco and western dances mostly taking over the cultural programmes like Ghumra, Dhap, Bajashal, Banabadi, but the original glorious tradition of the annual event is still intact and will continue to be so, opined guests while speaking at ‘Khusir Jharan: Nuakhair Milan’ organized by the Global Liferature Foundation, an organisation dedicated to lifestyle and literature.

The festival was inaugurated by Rajya Sabha MP Sujeet Kumar and presided over by the foundation’s convenor Sudhir Kumar Dhangdamajhi. Lanjigarh MLA Pradeep Dishari was the chief guest and Sambalpur University Registrar Dr Nruparaj Sahu, international management personality Dr Tapan Panda, eminent story writer Dr Hiranmayee Mishra, eminent linguist and playwright Parameswar Mund and eminent folk culture researcher Satyanarayan Mundchhina graced the occasion as guests of honor and highlighted various aspects of the festival and the changing scenario.

Eminent singers Sarbeswar Bhoi, Nilanchal Pan, Lipsa Maharana and Trinath Shyam Kumar performed folk songs. Dileswar Rana, one of the convenors of the foundation, conducted the program. The event was attended by hundreds of audiences across the state and the nation.
