Bhawanipatna, September 18: Amid the concerns over rise in dropout rates in the schools due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kalahandi district education administration has produced a short-film – “Iskul Dakuche Aa” – to raise awareness among the parents and children on the importance of continuance of education.
The film was premiered at a special event at BM High School, Bhawanipatna here recently in the presence of Kalahandi District Education Officer Sushant Kumar Chopdar, Additional District Education Officer Temlal Dubey, Bhawanipatna Block Education Officer Jagannath Purohit and school Headmaster Shashti Jhankar.
The film features how a teacher is bringing children back to school.
The film is written and directed by playwright and teacher Biranchi Narayan Mund, young writer and Sarian CRCC Sudhir Kumar Dhangdamajhi and young writer and teacher Dileswar Rana.
In this film Ashutosh Mishra, Headmaster of Atangguda High School, Bapuji CRCC Minati Kumari Pradhan, teachers Poornima Bhoi and Biranchi Narayan Mund, students Ayush Patra and Megha Swain have played important role.
Singers Sukanya Das, Chinmayi Baitaru and Bandhapari CRCC Trinathashyam Kumar sang under the direction of Lalit Patnaik. The film is available on Liferature YouTube channel. District science supervisor Prakash Nishank, teacher Mangulu Pradhan, Jayanta Pati, Jitendra Kumar Sahu, Jugeswar Majhi, artist Geetanjali Behera, Chaudhuri Rana, fine artist Smruti Ranjan Behera and others were present in the programme.
