Bhubaneawar, October 4: Pranab Das, a 20-year-old triathlete from Odisha, has qualified for the National Camp for Commonwealth Games and Asian Games to be held next year after winning Gold medal in National triathlon Championship held in Chennai on September 25.
Out of 84 athletes from across the country, Pranab clinched Gold completing 1.5 KM swimming, 40 KM cycling and 10 KM running in 2 hr. 30 min 55 seconds.
He started his Triathlon journey around 18 months ago in Cuttack and later went to Mini Orange Academy in Pune earlier this year. He owes his success to his parents, Ironman Soubhagya Kumar Rath and Cuttack cyclists.
He also won silver in Duathlon (10km running-40 km cycling-5 km running) and completed in two hours on September 30 in Dhanuskodi.
