Chandrasekhar Hota receives Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award

Bhubaneswar, October 17: Noted litterateur Chandrasekhar Hota was conferred with the Sahitya Akademi’s ‘Yuva Puraskar’ 2020 in Bengaluru on Sunday.

Hota got ‘Yuva Puraskar’ for his collection of essays ‘Chetanara Anwesana’.

Hota received the awards in the form of a casket containing an engraved copper plaque and a cheque of Rs 50,000 from Kendra Sahitya Akademi president Chandrashekhara Kambara at a special function held at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Bengaluru.

Kendra Sahitya Akademi, nation’s National Academy of Letters, confers on authors of the most outstanding books published in any of the major Indian languages every year.

Despite being a police officer by profession, Hota has earned fame in different fields of literature, including essay and column writings.

Born in Gujjiuta village in Bolangir district, currently, Hota is posted as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Nabarangpur.
