Odisha CM inaugurates new RTO-1 building equipped with Smart Queue Management

Bhubaneswar, November 1: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday inaugurated the newly built Annex Building of Odisha State Guest House and the New Building of RTO-1 (Regional Transport Office) equipped with Smart Queue Management inaugurated here.

He also inaugurated the WelcomHotel at Dumuduma built by ITC group.

The Annex Building of State Guest House is built at a cost of Rs 27 crore covering a built up area of 5,488 Square Meters.

The Annex Building has a G+5 Structure and is ready to set a new benchmark in the State’s hospitality facilities designed to provide maximum comfort and convenience to the State Guests.

The amenities include 15 VIP Suites & 41 Deluxe Rooms with an ambience and decor depicting the beauty of the Art & Culture of Odisha. The stay will provide State Guests a glimpse into the rich and varied artistic legacy of the State.

The new building of Regional Transport Office (RTO-1) is equipped with Smart Queue Management and single window systems.

The building is constructed at a cost of Rs 3.98 crore and has three floors excluding the basement spanning 4,998.30 square feet on each floor.

Following the principles of 5T, the Transport Department has added another feather to the public services. It has introduced Smart Queue Management system to improve the citizens’ experience at the RTOs. This facility is the first of its kind in Government Departments of Odisha.

The system further simplifies and fast tracks the process of issuing license, registration of vehicles, tax payment etc.

When an applicant comes, a token is generated at the office. The citizens need not stand in queue. They can comfortably sit inside the office for their turn. There would be display system at all the counters to announce the token numbers. The applicants can know the approximate waiting time for getting the service through predictive forecasting by the system. The citizens will receive notification for their service from time to time.

Citizens can make use of any the window to get their work done smoothly. This facility will soon be introduced in Angul, Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Ganjam and Puri.

Among others, Principal Secretary (Transport) Madhu Sudan Padhi, and Transport Commissioner Arun Bothra were present on the occasion.
