2nd National Yogasana Sports Championships kick-starts in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, November 11: The 2nd National Yogasana Sports Championships 2021-22 began with a gala opening ceremony on Thursday at Biju Patnaik Indoor Stadium of KIIT University here.

The championship was kick-started in the presence of 560 young athletes from 30 States aiming high for 50 medals in a uniquely designed competition and Sports and Youth Services Secretary R. Vineel Krishna, Udith Sheth, NYSF President, Dr. Jaideep Aarya, NYSF General Secretary, Dr. Prafulla Kumar Mishra, Mr. Umang Dawn, and Dr. Sasmita Samanta (KIIT University).

Organised by the National Yogasana Sports Federation (NYSF) in association with the Government of Odisha from November 11 and 13, the competition is a stepping stone in the direction of making Yogasana a part of the prestigious Olympics platform.

Addressing the occasion, Vineel Krishna said Odisha was proud to host this historic event and the govt. values sports by promoting fitness amongst the youth.

This event aims to promote Yogasana as one of the finest mediums of fitness and wellness across the globe.

Udit Sheth, President, NYSF shared, “We want to make Yogasana India’s Heritage Sport Brand for the world. It is an honor and privilege to be able to organise the championship in Bhubaneswar.”

The National Yogasana Sports Federation (recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India) is consistently working towards building a strong culture of fitness, competition, well-being, and growth through the practice and development of Yogasana.
