Census: 8 OAS officers selected as Charge Officers in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, November 20: As preliminary steps to handle Census activities the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday started training of Charge Officers.

Eight OAS officers have been selected as Charge Officers of the current census who underwent the training programme along with Amins and other supporting staff of BMC.

The programme conducted with the chairmanship of Additional Commissioner Laxmikanta Sethi where Deputy Director Census Haradhan Karmi joined as principal facilitator of the programme.

Talking to all 50 participants in the training session Karmi discussed on role and responsibility of Charge Officers. All the Charge Officers will prepare “Charge Register” to carry forward the activities. In this connection Census Office will provide approximate number of population increased in BMC area.

Like previous census this time also number of enumeration blocks will be decided and charge registers will be maintained under each Charge officers. House listing and survey will be done as per the guidelines prescribed by Census department. Further areas supposed to be included in the city will also be counted and enumeration blocks will increase. Taking all into account it was decided that charge register will be prepared by 30th of the month, said Deputy Commissioner and Census in-charge Srimanta Mishra.

The Charge Officers selected are Purandar Nanda, Kamiljit Das, Pramod Kumar Prusty, Ravinarayana Jethi, Ramesh Chandra Jena, Gayatri Samantaray, Kamalakanta Behera and Mahendra Badhai.
