COVID-19: No lockdown in Odisha; Focus on micro-containment strategy

Bhubaneswar, January 18: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday said that the COVID-19 situation in the State is now completely under control and there is no need to panic.

“The COVID-19 situation in Odisha is now completely under control. I appeal all to follow COVID-19 protocol. We can deal with the situation without affecting livelihood with the cooperation of people,” said Patnaik while reviewing the situation on virtual mode today.

The CM stressed on spreading awareness, proper adherence of rules, continuation of micro containment strategy and regular monitoring of patients in home isolation. Officials informed that there is adequate number of beds, medicine & oxygen cylinders available in the State.

He urged all to be very careful and prepared though there is a dip in number of active cases in major cities.

The Chief Minister suggested to expedite vaccination, provide booster dose to medical staff, police, and administrative officials, citizens at high risk of disease and media persons.

As many as 11,086 COVID-19 positive cases were detected in the State today.

Till yesterday, total 1,200 COVID-19 patients have been admitted to hospitals out of nearly 80,000 active cases in State.
