Puri, April 15: Union Health Ministry Joint Secretary Dr Harmeet Singh visited the Dolabedikona Urban Primary Health Centre in Puri district on Thursday and reviewed the status of health services being provided to the patient.
He praised the cleanliness and swachata maintained in the hospital and appreciated the hospital staff for their friendly behaviour with patients. He suggested to strengthen the Telemedicine facilities so that patients can directly consult with the doctor of AIIMS and SCB Medical College & Hospital, Cuttack.
He also visited Ramchandi Balikuda Slum near Puri Railway Station and attended a meeting organised by the MAA Bimala Mahila Arogya Samiti. He interacted with the MAS members regarding their role during COVID pandemic. MAS members demanded for provision of bike ambulance for slum to strengthen patient transport system.
The Joint Secretary urged the MAS member to participate in new health programme to Reduce the Cataract Case, Eliminate the Leprosy Case as well as malaria and dengue cases in the slum. He praised the work of MAS member and ASHA workers in difficult time like COVID pandemic.
Puri CDMO Dr Sujata Mishra welcomed Joint Secretary Dr Singh at UPHC in the presence of all UPHC staff. DPM T Narayan Rao, APM Santosh Mishra, AM-CP- Ashok Kumar Sahoo, PHM- Ranjeet Swain among others were present on the occasion.
