Bhubaneswar, May 28: The thirst for knowledge does not have any barrier, which is proved in the case of senior OPS officer Chandrasekhar Hota, who has qualified for the award of doctorate (PhD degree) in Political Science by the Gangadhar Meher University, Sambalpur.

“It is hereby notified that Chandrasekhar Hota has submitted the thesis titled Representation of Hinduism by Vivekananda Kendra: A critical Appraisal. He has been found, after examination, qualified for the award of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science,” stated a statement issued by university Controller of Examinations on Friday.

This notification is effective from May 27. The degree will be conferred on the research scholar in the next convocation of the university, it stated. He did his research work under the supervision of Dr Sikanta Panda.

Despite his busy life as a police officer and a litterateur, Hota put aside time for studies to get a PhD degree for his research on the representation of Hinduism by Vivekananda Kendra.

He has earned fame in different fields of literature, including essay and column writings. Last year he received the Kendra Sahitya Akademi award for his collection of essays ‘Chetanara Anwesana’. Born in Gujjiuta village in Bolangir district, Hota is posted as Deputy Superintendent of Police in Nabarangpur district.
