Plea to revamp Jharsuguda railway station as world-class

Bhubaneawar, August 10: Odisha Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das on Wednesday met Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in Delhi and demanded that Jharsuguda railway station be a world-class station.

Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari and Rajya Sabha member Niranjan Bisi were present during the meeting.

In a series of tweets, Das highlighted the issues, he has taken up with the Union Minister pertaining to his home district Jharsuguda.

“Jharsuguda Railway station is one of the busiest in the state and is also one of the oldest. There has been a longstanding demand of the people to develop the station,” said Das.

“Keeping in mind the sentiment of the people of Jharsuguda I demanded to make it a World-class railway station with all the modern facilities. Some other local demands were also raised by me related to Jharsuguda district,” added Das.

He tweeted, “Keeping in mind the safety of the people I apprised him regarding urgent need for construction of road over bridges at Power House Road level crossing, Ghanashyam Hemalata-Balijori level crossing and Chauki Pada Level Crossing.”

“Also, for the convenience of people and to avoid traffic jam, I urged Minister to construct underpasses at Dhutura level crossing and UltraTech Cement Factory level crossing, Jharsuguda,” said Das.
