Bhubaneawar, August 18: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday conducted an aerial survey of flood affected areas in Kendrapara, Puri, and Jagatsinghpur districts and announced 15-day relief to flood-affected people.
The Chief Minister announced distribution of relief aid for 15 days in flood affected villages of Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur districts. Similarly, relief aid will be given for seven days to people of flooded villages in Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh & Angul districts,” it stated.
He has also directed the district administrations to assess the damage within seven days of the release of flood water from the affected areas.
CM Patnaik has also directed officials to provide relief for house damage and crop damage within a period of 15 days.
Around five lakh people in 12 districts are reeling under the deluge in the Mahanadi river basin. The flood-hit districts are Angul, Bargarh, Boudh, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Khurda, Nayagarh, Puri, Sambalpur and Subarnapur.
