Odisha: Shalini Pandit new Health Secretary

Bhubaneawar, September 14: The Odisha Government on Wednesday effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle.

According to a of the General Administration Department, 2001 batch IAS officer and National Health Mission (NHM) Director Shalini Pandit is appointed as Health & Family Welfare Department Secretary.

Pandit is associated with the Health & Family Welfare Department since 2015 as Managing Director National Health Mission and Special Secretary Health & FW.

Dr. Brundha D, a 2010-batch IAS officer has been appointed as new NHM Director. She will also handle the service of Managing Director of Odisha State Medical Corporation Ltd (OSMCL) and Food Safety Commissioner, in addition to her duty.

Nikunja Bihari Dhal, a 1993 batch IAS and Principal Secretary, Energy Department is allowed to remain in additional charge of Principal Secretary, Excise Department and Chairman, GRIDCO.

Arabinda Kumar Padhee of 1996 batch IAS officer who is serving as Principal Secretary, Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Department, has been given additional charge of Principal Secretary, Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts Department.

Similarly, Science & Technology Department Secretary Suresh Kumar Vashishth of 1998 batch has been appointed as Secretary, Fisheries & ARD Department while Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts Department Secretary Shubha Sarma is transferred as Secretary, Woman & Child Development Department.

Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma (1999 batch), serving as Secretary, Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, is allowed to remain in additional charge of Science & Technology Department.

Similarly, 2008-batch IAS, Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar, Director, ST is posted as Additional Secretary, Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department. She is also allowed to remain in additional charge of CEO, ORMAS.

IRTS Officer Sanjay Kumar Mishra, Special Secretary, Commerce & Transport Department, is allowed to remain in additional charge of Chairman- cum Managing Director (CMD), OPTCL.

Besides, senior OAS officer Saroj Kumar Mishra is posted as the Special Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department. He is allowed to remain in additional charge of Special secretary, Home (Protocol) Department.
