Khordha, November 20: A sum of Rs 106.05 crore was disbursed to as many as 2,743 Self Help Groups (SHGs) in the district-level Mission Shakti Mega Loan Mela here on Sunday.
Being organised at the Jayee Rajguru Town Hall here, the loan mela saw disbursement of Rs 106.05 crore against target of Rs 100 crore. More than 500 BPC, BPM, Bank Mitra, MBK, GPLF, BPA, BLC of the district participated in the loan mela.
Best branches of 13 banks, 10 Bank Mitras were also felicitated for their outstanding cooperation in providing loan facilities to the SHGs.
Khordha MLA Jyotirindranath Mitra, Jayadev MLA, Arabinda Dhali, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Roopashree Rani Gumansingh, Collector K. Sudarshan Chakravarthy and Khordha ADM Manoj Kumar Padhi, DRDA Chief Development Officer & EO Digant Kumar Routrai, LDM Dillip Kumar Bhuyan, DGM (FI) Madanmohan Swain graced the occasion and focused upon socio-economic development and women empowerment.
The Odisha Gramya Bank, State Bank of India, UCO Bank functioning in Balianta, Bolagarh, Khordha, BMC-1 were felicitated.
Three SHG members, one Bank Mitra and one Branch Manager of a Bank shared their experiences in bank linkage.
