Nabarangpur, December 31: Nabarangpur police has seized a tiger skin worth lakhs of rupees in international market and arrested an alleged poacher from Papadahandi area, informed DSP Chandrasekhar Hota here on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Papadahandi police led by Sub-Inspector Sibji Panda arrested one Kamal Kumar Mohanty (30) from near Papadahandi Deer Park area on Friday evening.
“As per the direction of the SP, a special team led by SI Sibji Panda was formed to conduct raid on illegal trafficking of wildlife products. Accordingly, a raid was conducted near the Papadahandi Deer Park area at around 5 PM on Friday. During raid the team seized a tiger skin from the possession of accused Kamal Kumar Mohanty,” said Hota.
Further investigation is on, added the top cop.
