Bhubaneswar, February 15: The Sri Sathya Sai College for Women celebrated 42nd annual day on Tuesday here.
College Governing Body president Sunil Kumar Rath, Income Tax Special Director J Krishna Kishore and college Principal Prof. Debjani Singh graced the occasion amid a bewitching ambience created by fusion of conch sounds and Veda recitations.
“Sathya Sai Baba always says that the greatest miracle in life is the transformation of self,” said Governing Body president Sunil Kumar Rath.
The students recited Vedic verses and patriotic songs under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Mrunmayee Rath and Prof. Nilam Lakra.
Noted Charted Accountant and the president of eastern zone, Sathya Sai Seva Organisation president (Eastern zone) Narayan Prasad Sar graced the event as the chief guest and said, “Longing for union with God brings peace and happiness in life.”
On this occasion, the college magazine, ‘Mangal Pravat’ was released by the guests. Meritorious students who had excelled in different competitions were given awards by the guests.
Prof. Dr. Swapna Mallick, Prof. Mrunmayee Rath Prof. Itishree Dash and Prof. Prava Manjari Pattanaik also spoke.
The students performed cultural programmes like dances, songs and drama to mark the occasion.
