Bhubaneawar, April 10: The 61st Council Meeting of Western Odisha Development Council (WODC) on Monday approved 556 projects amounting to Rs 54.81 crore.
The meeting held under the chairmanship WODC Chairman Asit Tripathy at Rajib Bhawan here approved these projects recommended by MPs and MLAs.
Proposals received for completion of 1,147 WODC funded Community Centers and Kalyan Mandaps to the tune of Rs 64.24 crore, engagement of four more technical personnel to different districts and functioning of Social Media cell were also approved in the council meeting.
Tripathy apprised the Council regarding enhancement of GIA from Rs 2 crore to Rs 3.25 crore by the Government in the 2023 -24 State Budget and steps taken by WODC for completion of incomplete Community Centers and Kalyan Mandaps for which Rs 1.25 cr has been year earmarked.
Deogarh MLA Subash Chandra Panigrahi, Lanjigarh MLA Pradip Kumar Dishari, Bargarh MLA Debesh Acharya, Khariar MLA Adhiraj Mohan Panigrahi raised, Advisor and all nine Expert Members raised various issues related to implementation of WODC projects.
RDC (Northern Division) Dr. Suresh Chandra Dalai, RDC (Southern Division) T. Ao and WODC CEO Dr. Ajit Kumar Mishra were also present in the meeting.
