Trouble mounts for BJD MLA Srikanta Sahu as ‘tortured’ woman leader moves High Court

Bhubaneswar, August 26: The troubles of senior BJD MLA Srikanta Sahu seem to be mounting after woman BJD leader Sanjukta Mahala, who who had earlier brought physical and mental harassment allegations against the lawmaker, moved the Orissa High Court seeking justice.

MLA Sahu, the State Government, Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar DCP, Mahila police station IIC have been made respondents in the case.

Mahala, who has filed two separate complaints against the former Minister at Mahila Police Station in Bhubaneswar, was stopped from meeting Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on July 22.

It is worthwhile to mention here that Mahala had lodged two separate FIRs against Sahu accusing him of mental and physical harassment and engaging anti-social elements against her. She also sought police protection citing threT to her life.

“Srikanta Sahu was in a relationship with me for the last nine years. He tortured me mentally and physically. Then he ditched me,” Mahala had said earlier.
