SCCoRS Secretary calls on Odisha Chief Secretary, appreciates Govt’s road safety measures

Bhubaneswar, August 30: Secretary, Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety (SCCoRS) Sanjay Mittal on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena here. Transport Commissioner Amitabh Thakur was also present during this visit.

Mittal appreciated the ongoing steps being taken by the State Government on road safety activities.

“Secretary, Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety expressed his pleasure on the measures taken by the Health Department, Transport Department and Police on road safety activities,” stated an I& PR Department release.

On this occasion, the Chief Secretary advised the Transport Commissioner for training of engineers on road engineering from block-level to urban bodies by an export team and sensitisation of autorickshaw drivers.

The Chief Secretary also focused on awareness in school and colleges by experts particularly in PTM Day.

Besides, the Chief Secretary laid emphasis road-side of imparting training to PHC, CHC TCC.

“At least 10 boys of the road-side villages are to be trained by Red Cross/St John First Aid Team so that the accident victims will be taken proper care,” the release stated.
